TERA-3 is a test for analyzing early reading ability in children to determine if there are any problems.
Ch. 12 in our textbook was over mathematics instruction in children with learn disabilities. My Prescriptive Intervention Plan for a student. This plan will drive instruction and behavior intervention in order to help the student best succeed in my classroom. The student that I observed showed signs of Asperger's Syndrome and Attention Deficit Disorder and is medicated for ADD. Accommodations are meant to provide students with recognized disabilities with a way to ensure their success in grade level assignments and assessments.

Formal and Informal Assessments
Formal assessments support the conclusions as to why the test was made and have data showing this. These are usually standardized tests or benchmark tests that most or all students take. These tests show data that gauge whether a child is on level or struggling with the majority of his/her peers.
Informal assessments are driven by classroom performance and content rather than data from the masses. For example, running records, spelling tests, unit tests, chapter tests, and quizzes are examples of informal assessments because they indicate how well a student is doing on the particular lessons in a class. Commonly classroom grades are informal assessment measurements.
The assessment needs to match the purpose of assessing. Formal or standardized measures should be used to assess overall achievement, to compare a student's performance with others at their age or grade, or to identify comparable strengths and weaknesses with peers. Informal assessments should be used to inform instruction and whether or not a teacher needs to change things up.

Differentiation
The method that teachers use to change lessons for certain students in order to help them succeed despite learning disabilities or behavior issues. It is a framework that provides different students with different ways of learning the material in order to ensure success for all types of learners. Differentiation is essential for students with learning disabilities and for students with behavior issues. Not every child can be taught in the same way because not every child has the same personality or experiences. Differentiation is just a fancy way of saying, "making sure all students in your class are given every opportunity to learn with different styles to ensure success."
